Did you think the network was this painfully slow, or still usable? http://www.thenewsroom.com/details/462894/All+Categories?c_id=wom-bc-js

Hey Ryan,
I have one complaint - the microphone on the supplied earbud cord constantly catches on my shirt-collar. I speculate that the designers and testers all wore T-Shirts, and thus no one encountered this issue.
Other than that, the machine is pretty awesome. BTW, I have no trouble w/ email at all. I host my own of course, but I know folks who use Exchange and have no trouble (or at least none that they've mentioned to me when discussing our iPhones).
I'm curious what email issues you're experiencing. You know about the port number setting that you have to append to the exchange server name right?

I'm with you all the way, Ryan. And your critique of no 3G is spot on.
But you have to realise that there really was no 3G option. Verizon isn't an option because Jobs wants to sell iPods EVERYWHERE, and that means GSM. I think GSM was a given to start with, so Verizon was never an option.
But there WILL be a 3g iPhone, and I hope to be using it on either o2 or Vodafone in just a few months! That is, I think this isn't a problem with the iPhone but with the iPhone in the States. Most rumours point toward a european 3G iPhone within the next 6 months.
So this is a fatal flaw, but it's really not Apple's fault, it's the fault of the US cell phone networks not having 3G GSM, which of course is available everywhere in Europe and much of Asia.
As a user in the states, one might choose Verizon's network. But if you're making a phone to sell all over the world, you've got to have a GSM version.
