Same shit happened to me in 1998 when I bought the top of the range powerbook.
Crap hardware. Crap service. No support from cult members. And no support from Apple.
Good to hear nothing’s changed. I have not touched anything with an Apple logo since. Saved myself huge hassles.

To me Apple is a joke, their hardware sucks ass. Ive had 4 DOA iMacs and one shitty powerbook with weird fan-behaviour and I just sent my 2nd C2D Macbook Pro back 3 weeks ago and I still havent received my refund, I freakin hate Apple now and will never buy any of their shitty overpriced AD-2Cool4school-holierthanthou-SHIT-PCS ever again. Back to Thinkpads…Jobs you can keep your lollipop shit OS and your silvercoated bullshit doorstops.

When my 2GB PowerBook G4′s disk crashed last weekend, I nearly bought a MacBook. I resisted the temptation and, instead, installed a new 120GB drive for my G4. I feel much better having read about your experience. Also, Oracle hasn’t yet been ported to the Intel Mac which is another reason for me to wait.

We bought two MacBook Pro computers this week. Our Adobe applications did not copy over correctly, which was a huge scare. However, after reinstalling the apps from scratch, they work fine.
I agree with you on the customer service, though. I stood with this “please help me” look on my face at the new Apple store in Boulder twice this week. Both times it took about half an hour for someone to free-up and help me.
